Uncle Chumi Sent Off Stage by MC Kimblack After Disrespecting DJ Emaranx at Gwokute Gwobbba mu Comedy Show

The much-anticipated Gwokute Gwobbba mu Comedy show at Embassy Lounge on the night of June 16, 2025, ended in unexpected drama when Uncle Chumi was sent off stage by MC Kimblack after publicly disrespecting DJ Emaranx.

Uncle Chumi, who was ushered on stage by MC Mariachi, came in with over 100% vibe, immediately setting the crowd on fire. Her fans were purely vibing with her, dancing and singing along to her performance. Chumi, known for her energetic stage presence and unapologetic attitude, has recently been making waves in the local entertainment scene with her bold style and vibrant music.

Despite the superb vibe, tension arose when Chumi repeatedly demeaned DJ Emaranx, complaining that he was not following the music program she had submitted. In a heated moment, she shouted, "DJ, is this a white party or?" Her comment visibly shifted the mood among revellers, and the vibe started to cool down.

DJ Emaranx, one of the most respected and celebrated DJs, known for his humility and professionalism, remained calm despite the public humiliation. Emaranx, who also doubles as the manager of Embassy Lounge, has built a solid reputation for his respectful engagement with both fans and fellow artists.

Out of frustration, MC Kimblack stepped in to restore order. Taking the microphone from Chumi, he firmly requested her to leave the stage, saying:
"Stop disrespecting DJs! This is not the first time you are doing this. These DJs are parents, they have wives, and these are their fans!"
His strong words were met with applause from many in the crowd.

The situation escalated quickly when a few angry fans pelted empty bottles at Chumi, forcing her to leave the stage immediately for her safety.

However, despite the drama, Chumi’s performance was undeniably superb. She even paid tribute to fellow artist Temperature Touch, performing two of his popular songs—'Wanula' and 'Omulayi wa Balayi'—and paused to tell the revellers that Temperature Touch had sent them his greetings. These moments temporarily reignited the energy in the crowd, showing Chumi's ability to connect with fans even in the middle of controversy.

Fan Reactions

“We were loving her vibe; she had the crowd in her hands, but honestly, the way she talked to the DJ was out of line. She lost many of us at that point,” said Brenda, one of the revellers.

Another fan, Moses, shared a different view: “Chumi is naturally fiery, but I think it was just an emotional moment. The performance was still great, and we can’t take that away from her.”

What Do You Think?

Do you think Chumi crossed the line, or was it just a heated moment in the middle of a high-energy performance?
